Ingredients

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Filling

  • 4 oz brie cheese, cut into 12 cubes
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp candied pecans, chopped (optional crunch)

Garnish

  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional flair)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Muffin Tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Pastry Cups: Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet and cut it into 12 equal squares. Press each square firmly into the bottom and sides of the muffin cups to form small pastry cups.
  3. Assemble the Bites: Place one cube of brie cheese inside each pastry cup. Spoon a generous amount of cranberry sauce over the brie, and optionally sprinkle chopped candied pecans on top for added crunch.
  4. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and bubbly.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Allow the bites to cool for about 5 minutes. Then, for a festive touch, top each bite with a small sprig of fresh rosemary before serving.

Notes

  • To avoid overbaking, watch the pastry carefully as ovens may vary.
  • You can substitute candied pecans with walnuts or omit them for a nut-free version.
  • For homemade cranberry sauce, simmer fresh cranberries with sugar and orange zest until thickened.
  • Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
  • These bites are easiest to handle once slightly cooled but are delicious served immediately.
