Ingredients

Green Layer

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 box lime Jello (alternative: lemon or green apple Jello)
  • ½ cup vodka (or cold water for a non-alcoholic version)
  • ½ cup cold water

Creamy White Layer

  • 12 ounces sweetened condensed milk (alternative: coconut milk for dairy-free)
  • 2 ½ teaspoons Knox unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water (to dissolve gelatin)
  • ½ cup vodka

Orange Layer

  • 1 box orange Jello (alternative: peach Jello)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup vodka (or cold water for a kid-friendly version)

For Serving

  • 1 cup whipped cream (optional; can use coconut whipped cream)
  • ¼ cup green and orange sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Green Layer: Boil 1 cup of water and dissolve the lime Jello completely. Stir in ½ cup of cold water and ½ cup of vodka or cold water for non-alcoholic version. Pour this mixture evenly into shot cups and refrigerate for 2 hours to set.
  2. Prepare White Layer: In a saucepan, boil 1 cup of water and dissolve 2 ½ teaspoons Knox unflavored gelatin completely. Remove from heat and mix in ½ cup vodka and 12 ounces sweetened condensed milk (or coconut milk for dairy-free). Allow to cool slightly, then gently pour this mixture over the set green layer to avoid mixing. Refrigerate for 2 hours to set.
  3. Prepare Orange Layer: Boil 1 cup water and dissolve the orange Jello thoroughly. Mix in ½ cup vodka or cold water for a kid-friendly version. Carefully pour over the set white layer, then refrigerate again for another 2 hours to set completely.
  4. Serve Shots: Once all layers are firmly set, optionally top each shot with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with green and orange sprinkles for a festive finish. Serve immediately and enjoy your St. Patrick's Day party shots.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute vodka with cold water in all layers.
  • Use coconut milk and coconut whipped cream for a dairy-free alternative.
  • Chilling time is crucial to achieve clean, distinct layers without mixing.
  • Knox gelatin helps maintain the creamy white layer's texture and stability.
  • Adjust vodka quantities according to desired potency.
