Ingredients

Fondue

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dippers

  • Assorted dippers such as berries, bananas, pound cake, pretzels, and cookies

Instructions

  1. Heat Cream: Heat the heavy cream in a pan over medium heat until it is hot with bubbles appearing around the edges, being careful not to let it boil.
  2. Add Chocolate: Remove the pan from heat and add the coarsely chopped semisweet chocolate to the hot cream. Whisk the mixture until the chocolate is completely melted and the fondue is smooth.
  3. Stir in Vanilla: Mix in the vanilla extract evenly into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Serve: Serve the chocolate fondue immediately alongside your assortment of dippers such as fresh berries, sliced bananas, pound cake pieces, pretzels, and cookies for dipping.

Notes

  • It’s best to serve the fondue immediately to prevent it from hardening.
  • You can keep the fondue warm using a fondue pot, a crockpot on low setting, or a small oven-safe container with a lit tea light candle underneath.
  • Use chopped chocolate bars instead of chocolate chips for better melting and texture.
