Ingredients

Chicken Tenders

  • 1 pound chicken fillets
  • 1 cup panko crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Honey Sriracha Sauce

  • 1/4 cup sriracha
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • Juice of 1 lime

Dipping Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and place the rack in the top third of the oven to ensure even baking and a crispy finish.
  2. Prepare Coatings: In two separate bowls, prepare the coatings: whisk together the egg and milk in one bowl, and place the panko crumbs in the other bowl for breading the chicken.
  3. Bread the Chicken: Dip each chicken tender into the egg and milk mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly with the panko crumbs. Arrange the breaded tenders on a non-stick baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  4. Bake the Tenders: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden and crispy.
  5. Make Honey Sriracha Sauce: While the tenders bake, combine the sriracha, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and lime juice in a bowl, mixing until well blended to create a sweet and spicy sauce.
  6. Prepare Dipping Sauce: In a separate small bowl, mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, lime zest, and salt and pepper to taste, creating a cool and tangy dip.
  7. Serve: Once chicken tenders are cooked, toss them in the honey sriracha sauce or serve the sauce alongside for dipping. Pair with the lime dipping sauce for a refreshing complement.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, spray the breaded chicken tenders lightly with cooking spray before baking.
  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to suit your preferred spice level.
  • Use gluten-free panko crumbs if a gluten-free version is needed.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven to retain crispiness.
